Red Strontium Cobalti-nitrite, 2SrO.Co₂O₃.4N₂O₃

Red Strontium Cobalti-nitrite, 2SrO.Co₂O₃.4N₂O₃.11H₂O, may be prepared in an analogous manner to the barium salt, which it closely resembles.

Potassium and ammonium derivatives of this type have not been isolated. Owing to the insoluble character of their yellow cobalti-nitrites no intermediate red salt seems to be formed during their preparation.
